This week Tami takes center stage as her character is officially introduced!

Here’s my review!

Things start off right where they ended, Hana, Naru and Yaya face to face with the Student Council Prez Machi (voiced by my favorite Manami Numakura) as she’s informs them that until they become an official club, they can’t use the rooftop for anymore yosakoi practice. Out of the three girls, Hana has the hardest time coping with the situation as she’s so high energy, this is a huge problem for her; both Naru and Yaya are dealing with it pretty well though.

As the girls are talking over the situation, and getting quite animated in their conversation (no pun intended) they suddenly hear a soft laugh and they realize Tami has been sitting there the whole time, watching them. Unlike Machi, Tami has seen both Hana and Naru practice yosakoi before and knows how much it means to them, so this crackdown by Machi is something Tami doesn’t really like that much; at the current time there isn’t much she can do to help the girls, other than hold off the teachers for a short while as the girls can form a proper club and get permission to use the rooftop.

From here I can finally understand what Naru means by Tami being such a nice girl. Tami genuinely wants to help the girls in their quest for yosakoi and will do whatever she can to help them. Plus, Tami is also very beautiful and it’s pretty obvious why Naru would think of her like a princess too. That’s pretty much where this episode stays for the most part, focusing on Tami and her life. Yes the quest for yosakoi is still an important factor, but Tami’s character is important as she’s like the motivation that keeps Naru going, admiring such an outstanding girl like her.

This was coming sooner or later, but Hana mentions that they should ask Tami to join them in the quest for yosakoi, as she’s got so much class and beauty to add to the club. While it’s a fantastic idea, both Naru and Yaya have a down to Earth answer why that wouldn’t work. First of all we’ve seen that Tami is a very busy girl, always having some lesson she’s doing or other things, Naru also mentions that she comes from a strict family too so that might be a problem; Yaya also points out that she’s probably got lots of school work too, and being on the Student Council comes with it’s share of extra work too. Hmm, too bad though as Tami seems like the perfect girl to join the quest for yosakoi.

So for the rest of the ep we stick with Tami for the most part as she has to deal with her home life and coming to terms that she can’t keep trying to win her father’s approval, because it’s only holding her back from doing what she really wants. It’s clear Tami wants to do yosakoi with Hana, Naru and Yaya, but she’s built a wall around herself ans only focuses on doing things to please her father.

As the ep progresses, Tami slowly starts to realize why this is such a bad idea and that she needs to break out from this shell and start doing what she wants to. Naru and Hana are also still trying to recruit her as well, putting on a performance for her in hopes to get her interested enough to join. While things go well, Naru ends up falling yet again during the spin, prompting Tami to give her a few pointers that might help. It’s brought out earlier that Tami used to do ballet, so she’s very knowledgeable when it comes to dancing and how to do it right.

Hana ends up asking her if she wants to join them in yosakoi, something she kinda just launched into, so the question catches Tami off guard but gets the gears further turning as to what exactly she should be doing. After consulting her father about the matter, Tami is quite depressed when he voices his disapproval of her joining a club and leaving her lessons behind.

The last bit of the ep is a slight emotional scene where Naru and Hana have an all out conversation about the matter, in the rain, and why Tami should stop trying to always live up to impressing her father and actually find happiness elsewhere. There usually is a scene like this in a character introduction ep where said character has to overcome some personal challenge before moving on in life. No, I’m not saying this is bad or I didn’t like this scene, but I’m just mentioning that we do see these a lot.

After Naru talks some sense into Tami, likening her when she was very undecided about yosakoi and how Hana was the one who gave her that push, Tami finally gains the confidence to talk to her father about her choice to join a club and begin the quest for yosakoi.

So I actually really liked this ep as I was waiting for Tami’s character to finally be introduced and her to just have more screen time, so this was a good ep. They’ve almost got their team together, all that’s left is to convince Machi to join them in the quest as well. I’m sure we’ll see that in the coming eps as there is that tension between her and her older sister Sally-chan.

If you’re watching this one and have come this far, how are you liking it so far? Personally I’m really enjoying it a lot, it’s really enjoyable to watch and how can you say no to cute girls?

Let’s take a look at some screen shots now!
