I honestly have no idea what to say to start this review, so let’s just go straight into it and skip the intro this time.

The Plot:

So, that girl they pretty much kidnapped, Uki, well she lives at the dorm with Nono. She also happened to be in the same class with Yui a few years back. Also it turns out her body has not grown at all in the 6 years, she does not even look like she aged. It was believed to be caused by the earthquake and some sort of PTSD.

Meanwhile the scientist girl, Mio, wants to look to see some sort of connection to all the murders, as in the brains. She would like to look into Takuru and Arimura’s brain. She also knows that Uki is rather powerful.

The girls are rather, well connected, which is an understatement. Some things come up, and ultimately what is learned is that Senri might be the arsonist, she was a friend of Takuru’s before the earthquake but was believed to be dead. It is only thought to be her, since her badge was left at one of the scenes. So, the pyro chick from last time might be her and the arsonist and the main murder of all these. It is also pointed out that the day of one of the murders is fast approaching.

So, although Takuru says they should be careful, what do they do? Go to a restaurant where they are attacked, or at least seemingly, which was still honestly dumb of them. One of the sumo stickers appears in a menu, Takuru freaks out and the world becomes somewhat grey as the arsonist returns. But he snaps out of it and nearly crushes. Serika.

Then they go back to the dorm, Arimura is in a particular panic. She wants to go out and find her. Well, Senri nearly came to them. Also Nono does not think Senri is still alive, but Arimura knew that was a lie. The episode simply ends with them realizing the survived the day of the 5th murder.

Overall Thoughts:

There is nothing wrong with this fact, but it is still true, each episode brings something and does not go back or need to throw old info at us in bulk. Each something new happens. This episode was no different.

I do not have much to say about the episode. The only thing I can think to say is the fact that the show has several female protagonists, but due to this being a visual novel adaptation it is unlikely the other female characters will get a lot of focus, since this will only focus on one route. This is something that can hold a lot of anime back. I think when it comes to a lot of the characters that appear, at least the ones in the journalism club, it is hard to know more about them, since this is not their route. But oh, well.

This episode was certainly still keeping my interest, and I am glad it has stayed at least constant this entire time. I may not have hated any episodes until now, but I cannot say I truly love any of the episodes either. I do hope this series improves, instead of feeling like this in a constant state, especially since we are 6 episodes in now.

Overall Enjoyment: 80/100

Chaos;Child is licensed by Funimation and is streamed on Crunchyroll.

Feel free to give your thoughts on the episode, just keep in mind of spoilers.

As always I hope you enjoyed.

Anime Corps has plenty of other things from reviews, editorials, and more to check out, all from other writers.

I am mostly the editor here, but only my personal blog, The Reviewer’s Corner, I have more weekly reviews and a list series. That is here.

Until next time.
